Maritime Full-Process Guarantee! The 50th Wuhan Yangtze River Crossing Festival Successfully Held

On July 16th, the 50th Wuhan "July 16" Yangtze River Crossing Festival 2025 officially kicked off with the starting gun, becoming the focus of attention for the people of this riverside city.

The scale of this year's Festival has reached a new high, with 70 domestic and foreign individual sprint swimmers and 30 mass cross-river teams—totaling over 2,400 swimmers—competing in the race, showcasing sports vitality on the Yangtze River.

Before the event, the Wuhan Maritime Safety Administration held multiple coordination meetings, proactively connected with the event organizing committee, organized Maritime Offices to conduct trial crossing drills, and finally formulated detailed water traffic organization plans and navigation safety guarantee plans.

During the event, as the main force for water safety guarantee, the Administration activated the "three-level command + three-direction control" guarantee mechanism. Through a combination of remote and on-site methods, three control lines were set up at Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge, Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, and the estuary of the Han River, guiding over 40 ships in nearby waters to anchor in an orderly and safe manner. Meanwhile, it joined hands with the Wuhan Waterway Transportation Law Enforcement Detachment to simultaneously implement traffic control, forming an all-round water warning network.

After the event, precise guidance was provided based on real-time on-site conditions. "Point-to-point" reminders were issued for key ships such as dangerous goods ships and passenger ships, and backlogged ships were guided to resume passage in batches.

Since the start of this year, the Wuhan Maritime Safety Administration has been boosting the prosperity of Wuhan's water-based cultural and tourism industry with a strong sense of responsibility and professional capabilities. It has fully supported the water-based special program of the Wuhan sub-venue for the Spring Festival Gala, ensured safety supervision during peak passenger flow periods for major events such as the "Cherry Blossom Season" and the "Wuhan Marathon", and actively assisted in the preliminary preparations for water-related activities like the second season of the Yangtze River Cultural and Art Festival.
